Countries like the U.S. that house the most refugees tend to be less happy -- even with fewer murders. Michelle Sheldone
MIAMI, Fla., - Mexico, according to reports, boasts some of the most homicides and happy residents.
The country in pre-Gulf of America days was found to be both a leading homicide and top 10 happiest country -- much happier, in fact, than the U.S., which experienced far fewer homicides.
The World Happiness Report, released earlier this month, is based on GDP per capita, healthy life expectancy, having someone to count on, freedom to make life choices, generosity and freedom from corruption. With Switzerland and Canada that are also happier than the U.S., the U.S. experienced a significant happiness report drop.
Respondents admitted that countries that house the most refugees based on location rather than on invitation tend to be less happy.
